I have an i5 6400 and I used the stock cooler that came with it for 2 years with no problem.

But now I order an i5-9600kf and I know that it doesn't come with a stock cooler, but I don't really have money to buy one.

Can I use the stock Intel cooler that I have or do I need to get one? And If I do, what is a good option for cheap?

Intel stock cooler is not that good, expecially when palying intensive games at 1080p and rendering, and you have skylake stock cooler which is little worse than intel bad ninth gen stock cooler. (im not amd fanboy, but intel's stock cooler are not good, it is just my opinion)

would encourage to get something with hyperthreading from current gen, but if you have allready done the transaction im guessing its a bit late.

Well I got it for 140€. And I can't afford an i7 at this point. Isn't this processor good at 1080p gaming?

deepcool gammaxx 400 is one of the cheapest ones that dont suck. its equivalent of the coolermaster hyper 212 at about $20. There are cheaper options but im not sure what to recommend on those. they said the snowman and great wall is ok.

there is allways the r5 2600, or maybe even 2700 if you are lucky.

you dont have to get core i7 CPUs.

It is, tho why get the 9600kf if you arent going to OC?

Just get the 9400f. Or even better, the 2600.

Both should go for about 120$ equivelent currency

Well the 9600kf gets a little more fps even without oc than the 9400.And it is exactly the same price

ah, fair enough.

the 9400f the same price or?

would still suggest 6c/12t since the r5 2600 is right around that pricepoint.

Either snowman, or ID SE-214X the latter is 160mm tall though, so might not fit!

or even SE-213V2, though I'd undervolt the CPU just to be sure. But this little guy is still more capable, by far, than the stock intel cooler.

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )

the TPD is irrelevant.
nobody runs their CPU at the baseclock.

in AVX titles like BFV or the new need for speed your CPU can easily go above 120-130 watts.

my friend runs a 9600k at 5Ghz with a NH U12S and peaks at around 70°C.

that costs around 60 bucks and is inaudible and very high quality.
