Long story short, bought an iMac after being pc masterrace for a long time, love it but considering getting rid of it to build a pc instead and buy some sweet camera lenses. Would like some advice on the build I'm considering to compete with the iMac.

pc specs:

cpu - ryzen 3900x

cpu cooler - corsair h100 i pro rgb (have a brand new one at home)

mobo - msi mpg x570 gaming edge wifi

memory - g.skill ripjaws v series 16 gb (2x8) ddr4-3200 (would add an extra 16gb of the same ram from previous build for a total of 32Gb)

storage - samsung 970 evo plus 500GB M.2 NVME SSD

gpu - Gigabyte RTX 2070 super 8GB windforce oc 3x

case - nzxt 510i atx

psu - corsair rm(2019) 750 w 80+ gold

montior - lg uc80-b ultrawide (already owned)

iMac 2019 27in specs:

cpu- intel i9

gpu - radon pro 580x

ram- 40 gb

storage - 512 GB

use: some light gaming like overwatch and primarily work station and photo editing/light video editing

thoughts?? help appreciated thank you!

will not touch this with a 10ft. pole, 3900X cooks it alive at above 100C VRM temperature. Especially when MSI sells this for nearly $200.

8GC models have Type-C while 8GD doesn't, if you care about Type C

I'm near certain you can get Adata SX8200 Pro, Corsair MP510 or HP EX950 for less

Somewhat suffocating case, though if you like the H510's front panel design then there's not much I can do about this. Decent airflow cases imo will be the Phanteks P350X, Factal Define C or Corsair 270R/275R

damn two people against the mobo. I had no idea it had those issues. I figured msi would be a good try considering the asus mobo i had before seems to be the culprit behind my pc failing..

500GB SSD for the main stuff and regular hdd for the rest. Would love to have a bigger ssd but $$$

TUF Wifi is the best board below $200, otherwise the MSI Unify or Asrock Taichi are good deal in the high end as well

Find the budget. SSDs are cheap right now, and the price difference between a 500GB and 1TB really isn't that high.

You also have the X570 Pro 4 which hardware Unboxed said it's pretty good, even more considering the price tag it has :)

I'd rather get an MSI B450 Mortar/Tomahawk at that point, even cheaper without losing stuff actually useful
