So i had constant stutters in my games and was wondering why (2080ti with x299 7900x). Saw that my mobo (asus deluxe II) had a new bios available that fixed performance and stability issues.

Went on to upgrade the bios which went fine (got the prompt confirming everything went well) then it said it needed to reboot and now im stuck with "load vga bios" error on the bios screen that offers to press del or F2 (which i cant do).

The only thing that works is shutting the pc off, removing cmos battery then starting again which will this time get past the vga codes scan and make me run setup in the bios which has default values.

Once i do save changes and it reboots, it gets stuck again at load vga bios.

Update 1: removing the vga from the pcie slot makes me get past boot, but i dont see anything on the screen because of it.

Update 2: after removing the gpa from the pcie slot reaching windows rebooting with the vga in, it reaches windows again and i can enter windows and all. I reboot to go do my oc and fan settings in the bios, save changed and reboot "load vga bios" again.

Ever find out what causes this I just bought the same board new and it works fine till I try and hook up more than 3 drives , 1 m.2  and 2 ssd  and it boots fine add any more drives and it's hit or miss if it will get the vga error I tried with multiple gpus pny-gigabyte and still sale probl also noticed that if it does boot with all drives some will be missing and it's never on the same ports that the drive won't load so it's strange . Seems like a bios update is needed and alot of ppl have this type of problem with the vga load error and Asus has been absent from fixing the issue on a board they still sell? I know it's not the newest but damn they always supported all my other boards z77 and x99 for years after with updates , just seems strange on the 600.00usd board they stay so silent

Hi, its been a while but im pretty sure i just reverted back to the previous bios and it worked fine after. I am no longer on this platform, switched to 10900k / z490 as I no longer needed the extra workloads capacities of the x299 platform.

I do agree it's an annoying issue and asus as been lacking about it especially considering its an expensive platform. The support definitely isnt there.
