Stuck with Best Buy Credits, any way to convert

If it's on your member account there's not much you can do, they keep track of how things are purchased for that specific reason. No buying something then returning for cash and since it's linked to your member account you can't resell it. Personally I would just go to their online store they have a much better selection on there. You may have to have it shipped to your store or house if it's not already in stock at your local store but it's not that bad of a wait usually 2 to 4 days. But they do have a better selection of monitors on their website.

So I had a wheel that wasn't working and I returned and got back 250$ worth of best buy credits. I was planning on buying a monitor but they don't have many options that I need, is there any way to convert them to cash. If I buy something with the credits and return it within the 30 day return period will I get cash back? Thanks, also I didn't where to post this. I am in oregon USA if you need that information.

I don't think you'll get cash back. Kind of defeats the purpose, if you could do that they'd just issue you a refund to begin with.

Did they give it to you on a BB gift card?

Options:

1. Do they have phone cards or iTunes cards or whatever cards for sale?  The ones with dollar values?  You can buy those and sell em on eBay.  Kind of a heinous discount.  You won’t get all your money back.

2. Best Buy has a much more full featured website than they do a storefront  so you might find something you actually want there that wasn’t in the store.

3.  Best Buy is probably legally required to tell you all this stuff you don’t know.  They should have some phone number for such.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Oy. Well, @Bombastinator has your best option. If you pick the right gift card, you might only lose like 8% of its value selling it to an online reseller.

To get cash youll need to buy something and then sell it. Youll lose some money but its basically the only way to get cash.

Also alot of times retailers wont allow you to buy gift cards with their gift card/credit. Im not sure what best buys policy on this is so youll meed to look it up.

Dont sell them on ebay though. Unless you wanna take an even bigger loss.

1. You can't resell credit that's on your member account. Unless you sell someone your whole account.

2. They price match with reputable sites like Newegg and Amazon as long as the seller is the actual site and not third-party.

If you can get one of those Visa gift cards (it's a few bucks to activate it, I think), there are actually kiosks around some places you can turn in "unused" gift cards for cash. It's usually meant to get off the few bucks you don't/can't use, but from what I've seen, they don't nitpick about the amount on them. They kind of work like a Coin-Star kiosk, they might take a small amount out of it, but it likely isn't a large amount.

I mean for the most part 240hz monitors and 1440p high refresh rate monitors are going to be at minimum $300 on pretty much any site unless it's heavily on sale, a cheap brand, or used.

The Samsung is a nice deal if you don't mind curved. As for the other two, like a said, cheap brands. Viotek is one I would consider a cheap brand, quality control and warranty isn't as good and usually they save you the money by using the panels the big brands didn't want, causing for more dead pixels or DOA monitors.

Well, that would be infuriating. I know that is how I've gotten out of store credit before, buying a gift card. I don't shop at Best Buy, though.

For all of those suggesting to buy a gift card, they can't. 99.9% of retailers don't allow this to prevent fraud.
