Where Can I get metals in form of sand?

Googling around I only found out tiny ingots (but still too big, I would really like something thin like sand/flour) 

I know that's is pretty general question, but well..

What kind of metal are you looking for (steel, copper, aluminum, lead, titanium, etc)?

 

I doubt you'll find something as fine as flour for sale commercially since metal doesn't really break down like that unless it's a by-product of some other operation, like a lot of metal grinding for example.

 

You could look at bulk product for making your own shotgun shells (making broad assumptions on this being available wherever you live) since they are very small pellets of lead for something like buck shot.  Or sandblasting media, which I think contains small particles of steel.

 

Another thought... might be a machine shop around that you could talk to about any by-product/shavings/filings/machining chips/whatever.  Many shops collect up the debris to either recycle or scrap for money, so you might be able to buy it off them for cheap if that will work.  Would likely be mixed with cutting fluid though, so if purity matters maybe not the best idea.

So youre looking for sand blasting media? You can buy that in plenty of places.

Metal powder is pretty common if that's what you're looking for. I've bought from Metal Powders USA before and was satisfied.
