Just curious but what do all of you guys name your systems?

My systems are currently just named BERWYN-WS (my main workstation and gaming pc), BERWYN-RENDER (machine i do my renders on so i dont tie up my main rig, also doubles as a pc powering the tv in front of my bed), and BERWYN-LAPTOP (just a laptop).

All the laptops my family members use are also named OWNER-LAPTOP with OWNER being who is using it.

I usually stay with a space theme because I am a big space nerd, so far my computers names have been

MollyBrown - The name of the Gemini 3 capsule which was flown by my two favorite astronauts Gus Grissom and John Young

Highland - Named after the lunar highlands

Skylab - Named after the first U.S. Space station since it used leftover Saturn V rockets and the build was using old parts from the MollyBrown build and some new parts

the last pc I made does not have a name yet as I built it a few days ago. It is a small form factor build in the Fractal Design Node 202, I will be using it for when I am home for breaks from school and hopefully some LAN parties. I was considering Sputnik since it will be a PC that travels a lot but I have not fully decided yet

Well, my main PC is named "FBISURVEILLANCEVAN" and my router is "MI5SURVEILLANCE" my network is a shit show.

And my phone is named "boi", just because i always remember that.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

For the last 10 years or so, I've generally named my machines based on what the hardware is, but the first letter is replaced with W.   Wacbook, Wurface2, Waptop, Wake (a Skylake system).

I'm like OP. I just name my username + a suffix at the end, like TetraSky-PC or TetraSky-LT (for laptop), etc etc... Sometimes I just use Tetra without the Sky part.

I usually use nicknames for the PCs of other people that I fix as well.

After the name of the person who uses it, I have too many systems on my network to be able to remember which string of random seeming numbers belongs to which PC.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

I use a name which reminds me of what computer it is when I see it on the network.  I also specify the OS in the name in some way.
