LG 27GL83A-B Showing up as a 27GL850 in OS

I know that the GL850 Is a better monitor, but I'm confused as to why my 83A-B is showing up as a 850 in my OS and my Nvidia Control Panel is also saying that its a GL850. Is this just a bug as the monitors are very similar or did I just get really lucky in that amazon just sent the wrong monitor? Im not having any issues, but im just curious as to why this is happening.

Probably got the better version or even a mixup at the factory.  Ive seen 8c/16t R5 1600's on this forum as well :) At least you benefitted from this issue!  Especially if it comes with, and has a better panel in it.

So would it be possible the actual screen itself, not the whole thing as the I/O is the same as the 83A, got mixed up? That would be awesome if thats the case

I haven't looked at pictures of the monitor so not sure the differences - I would assume if its registering as the better of the two its the panel and its PCB that drives it that are installed in the unit you have.  Or if they aren't identical IO systems maybe is a software oops on the manufacturers part.

 

Just looked up the monitor - seems the nicer one has USB Type A, and 2x USB 3.X ports in the back, what does yours have?  (The cheaper of the two does not have these in the IO port but look identical other than that at quick glance) meaning I would assume if it does NOT have the extra USB connections its still the -B variant with incorrect software maybe?
