Air Cooling a be quiet dark base 900 rev 2.

Hello There

I am preparing to buy parts for my next computer build at the end of November. For this build I decided to go with the dark base 900 rev 2 as it is important for this build to be quiet. To further build up on the stock fan configuration I plan to purchase additional Silent Wings 3 Fans to further lower noise at similar Volumetric flow (Do the High speed versions make sense?). As i am not building PC's on a regular basis my experience is not sufficient, at least i think, to make a optimal descision.

My idea was to have

intake:

3x 140mm at the front

1+1  140mm fan bottom of the case and PSU shroud
exhaust:

1x 140mm at the back of the case

1x 140mm at the top of the case

Which configuration makes the most sense for this case in your idea?

Thank your for inputs, help and good discussions.

My Specs are:
CPU:                               Ryzen 9 3900x

CPU cooling:                   Be quiet Dark Rock Pro 4
GPU:                               1070ti air cooled as a stop gap measure till next generation GPUs come out next year

Motherboard:                  MSI MEG X570 Unify
SSD:                               2x 2TB Intel 660p

HDD:                               2x 2TB WD Green (Old ones that still work for back ups)
RAM:                              2x 16GB either 3600 3833 or 4000Mhz

not sure yet for the RAM which ones to choose as we have here in Switzerland quite a limited choice of suppliers and sometimes horrible pricing when shortages of certain modules arise also not sure which modules are the best for 3900x is a 3833 CL18 better than a 4000Mhz Cl19, I plan to optimize timings and try to overclock as well the infinity fabric.

3 140mm fans intake at the front (spinning slower), 1 140mm (spinning semi fast) at the rear as exhaust. Beyond that, it's my own opinion that adding more fans do not significantly impact cooling, but make more noise.

Hmm I was thinking that fans on the PSU shroud and on the bottom of the case could also help with improved airflow to the GPU or do the front fans already support enough air at low rpms even though the front of the case is fairly restricting airflow?

The Dark base 900 has decent side ventilation at the front for air intake, however you are correct. A bottom mounted fan firing upwards is theoretically better since the air would go directly into the GPU. The bottom intake also draws air in the from the sides from similar vents like the front, so there is no airflow advantage to be gained there since they both have the same sid vent spacing. The drawback is that the left fan mount would most likely be fighting the PSU directly underneath it, and the right fan would most likely not blow into the GPU due to the length of the case unless the GPU was fairly long (so for example, an Asus Strix 1070ti instead of a regular length 1070ti)
