Ryzen or Intel for Gaming?

Small debate going on irl:

Friend is saying Intel because of the better performance, I'm saying Ryzen for a <£700~ tower.

Uh... Any opinions?

technically the 9900k is still the king in gaming, but Ryzen is very very close for a reduced cost. Performance per dollar, AMD/Ryzen still wins.

Yeah, understandably Intel destroys the higher-price point with fantastic performance, I was aiming my argument more at the budget/mid

Budget oriented is definitely AMD hands down. All of AMDs offering at lower cost provides significantly better performance than stuff from intel.

AMD usually controlls the 300-1500 $ mark when it comes to PC building, or at least thats how im counting it.

as buying a non-ht CPU today is really just dumb.

Destroys is a strong word rn, it just has an advantage in most titles. Not all though, for example in cs go a 3700x is on par with a 9900k while a 3900x beats it by 30 fps

AMD all day!

9900K(S) is the Single Core King

ok

BUT only by a %FPS in Ranges where you won’t notice

MUCH more important is the much better multicore performance from the Ryzen chips and their better price/perf!
