My youtube url still shows my original one from more than 10 years ago, is there a way to change this? I tried the custom url, but it keeps defaulting to the old one! It's really annoying!

Have you gained everything you need to setup custom url? If so, note that Google is sometimes very slow on applying changes. One of my accounts shows profile pic from 7 years ago, when I switched it 5 years ago.

Yes. I can type in my custom url and it works. But as soon as I click soon as I click somewhere else on my channel it reverts back to my old url.

Custom URL eligibility

To create a custom URL for your channel, your account needs to:

  • Have 100 or more subscribers
  • Be at least 30 days old
  • Have an uploaded photo as a channel icon
  • Have uploaded channel art

For me, even though I met all the requirements and the option was there, when I contacted Google they still wanted to verify manually that I owned a matching domain or other brand related elements before the change actually went through. This was in 2018 on my newest channel. I'd imagine it's only getting harder from then.
