Maybe stupid question but.... how does a person become a worker for movie popular like lion king ? Wether that’s voice actor or 3D modeller?

Do you have to be famous? Luck?

I mean I never plan to be an actor or voice because that’s not what I’m good at but I wish I was though however I just ain’t got the voice for it :(

but anyway. How does them get the roles? To be the voice of simba. To be the 3D modeller or animator for simba

just using this movie for example

just in general popular movie

you need to have the skillset to stand out and get hired

you also need to have what they are looking for

and the work ethic

you "need" to have an agent

for movies you need examples of the voice, or photo's

you would stand a greater chance of getting hired if you show up in person or live nearby

I think i have some insight to this subject since I used to work for 20th Century Fox (before the Disney buyout). For the voice acting part of the question, you need to have several projects under your belt before you even attempt to break into the movie industry. Its kinda like having a portfolio that you can show the talent scouts that you have what it takes. Still not a guarantee that you will ever get in but its worth a shot. The second part of the question requires you to also have an extensive portfolio to show studios/production houses that you have the skills. Also depending where you work, you might have to join a union to even be allowed to be in the industry. I do not remember off the top of my head the name of the union i bet you can do a simple google search for it. To be honest with you though its not really a financially rewarding industry (if you care about the money).

The conventional wisdom is that studio work falls into the class of “lottery” jobs, like pop music and some other stuff.  This applies to all of them.

Mere luck won’t cut it.  Lucky AND good.  The number of highly qualified job seekers vastly out numbers the number of available positions.  Being highly qualified guarantees nothing.  It’s merely a requirement.  Nepotism reportedly helps.  Networking reportedly helps.  A willingness to ignore low chances of success reportedly helps.  Even with all of these though along with being well qualified, job seekers still vastly out number available positions.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

The production company (or casting agent) will reach out to whatever various agencies or agents and notify them that a position is open for the role of 'Simba'. Then, you audition for the role. There is probably 2 or 3 rounds of auditions, and then you are or are not chosen for the role. Then you seek out the next open role, rinse and repeat.

The production company will hire a studio, firm, or agency (or multiple agencies) to produce a specific vision, and that firm will hire as many artists, modelers, riggers, animators, etc. to complete the job.

If you (or anyone) wanted to get started in either route, there are plenty of steps to take to get you started, and so long as relocation is not out of the question, it is very much possible. For voice acting, you can start by doing voice acting for video game mods (Fallout 4: New Vegas was recently looking for VAs). For 3D modeling (or even concept artist), there are plenty of YouTube channels that cover those topics, as well as courses from Udemy, Skillshare, etc. Just be aware that the entertainment industry, especially cinema, is extremely competitive.

Yes true. I personally would rather decline a job if I only got it through connections because it would invalidate all the hard work and sacrifices I made to get to this point.

I’d say

”not just what you know but also who you know”. In some cases one can substitute for the other.

This life stance can have unfortunate consequences.  There was once a young woman who wound up on her knees in a campaign tourbus blowing a 73 year old Donald Trump for example.  I rather doubt she feels it was her finest moment.

Yep.  This exactly is my point.  Think she grew up thinking “gee maybe one day I’ll grow up to blow a senior citizen on my knees in a bus!  Oh the glamor!”

yup, she wanted the money

and the fame for blowing a famous person

now she can sell her story to tmz or the enquirer

then she will have the money to move to l.a. and become an actor or a voice over in a movie

in which, she will do what she knows best, get on her knees to get what she wants, be an actoress

and yes that is how people do get parts in movies

The easiest to start is the 3d.

Doing 3D animation is relatively cheap since any gaming PC is powerful enough to run the software. If you start with Blender the software is fee and it is capable of producing a "Simba". Since youtube is free you have a platform to showcase your talents. The only thing stopping you is you.

Except she hasn’t.   The name isn’t known.  There is no photo.  Just an audio recording and a video of a bunch of people frantically getting off a tour bus.
