Before I pull the trigger on the new HP 17 inch 2070 anyone got any thoughts on it or recommendations for laptops.

Budget is £1500

Requirements

  • Good gaming performance
  • good looking screen
  • Good keyboard and touch pad
  • high storage capacity/upgrade ability as will be pushing storage to highest possible

Dont care for

  • weight. got to be light enough to be carried
  • battery life. doesnt bother me too much wont be gaming without power so as long as it can do a few hours doing basic stuff.

In terms of value/heat I'd highly suggest just getting a 1660ti machine unless you really just need a mobile desktop.

There seems to be a lot of models with 120hz displays as well

and they're pretty cheap vs higher end GPU models, still perfectly fine for 1080p gaming.

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

There appears to be one cheap 2070 120hz machine on ebay, most of the higher end laptops should be pretty similar, with similar issues, unless you find a significantly thicker model with a more substantial heatsink.

It's still 6 cores/12 threads, 9th gen doesn't have any major improvements since it's still on 14nm

should be avalible there for under 1300GBP unless something is wrong with ebay.

stop looking at american sites if someone says they are not from america. You dont pay taxes on product purchases so 1300 in usa is over 1500 with taxes.

I'm looking at the ebay.co.uk site and it was under 1300 GBP, dunno about what taxes you may have to add on though.

Ebay may also just be showing me the wrong prices
