Keyboard and Mouse turn off after boot up

So I was using the computer yesterday, I didn't install anything I was just playing Minecraft. So when I finished playing I turned off the PC and the next day I started the PC and I find the keyboard and mouse not working. I opened the bios to see if anything changed, nothing. While using the bios the keyboard and mouse worked just fine just once I boot up windows they turn off and stop working. I tried booting into safe mode but nothing worked there too.

The USB controller on the motherboard has probably gone. RMA the motherboard

Computer can boot in to BIOS and IO works there, so that seems a little extreme at this point.

OP: boot in to ubuntu and see if your keyboard works in ubuntu (you dont need to install it, you can use it from installer)

yeah sure, use RUFUS to create a bootable ubuntu installer.

thats exactly what I had in my mind. You can try recovering windows 10 but since every time I tried to use that feature it never worked you are probably better off reinstalling windows.

I have windows installed on another hdd will that work?

Sure its probably fine. You will be better off reinstalling windows at one point though.
