Connect To Internet Via Two Connections?

This might be a dumb question but i currently have an AC wireless card and powerline ethernet adapter which i switch between for different purposes for internet. Both allow me to use 40Mbps out of my 100Mbps connection. Is it at all possible to "combine" these connections for 80Mbps? I know i sound like a boomer but i remember seeing on a motherboard a long time ago that it could offload less important tasks to the wireless connection, allowing the wired connection to be used for important stuff like downloads or games.
