A little warning for those of you running Rosetta on Android devices: check your device regularly, that it isn't stuck or waiting for you to clear (storage) memory. Don't just check the device on the website to see if it is still contacting the project correctly as that may give false information.

 

My old Huawei P9 Lite is running several projects, among it Rosetta. I just today checked the phone itself to find that although it had contacted Rosetta the past days, it wasn't doing anything because the 4 Rosetta tasks on the device were so big they had gobbled up all storage and the phone was waiting for me to clear space (16GB storage, 200MB free). After uninstalling everything I didn't need on the phone, it's now crunching Rosetta's again.

 

I also set the Target CPU Time in Project Preferences to just 2 hours (was default 8.) as this gives smaller tasks.

Hey Boinc Crew, Just want to make sure I have things set up properly. I used BAM so that I can manage my multiple system in one place. I got signed up to Rossetta and assigned it to the LTT Team and got all my hosted assigned to that project. I'm pretty sure all my systems are running and for over 24hrs now but when I go to "My detailed stats" page on Boinc Stats I get the user ID does not exist error. Not sure how long it takes to update just wondering if I'm missing something in setup. Thanks for any help!

Can take several days. Depends on whether your machines are getting work and returning correct results.

Did you sign up with username "j1philli"?  As I cannot find that one on BOINCStats. But then the LTT membership list has been updated only until April 12th. Check that you're on it, else wait another 24 hours. By default BOINCstats gets updated stats in every 12 hours, but it being Easter it's possible something fluked somewhere and we're waiting for a human to turn up.

I have put all of my resources into BOINC 24/7 now.

 

F@H was sitting idle too much for my liking, and I prefer the feedback I get from BOINC.

 

 

Thanks to some config tweaking, I now have both GPUs running GPUGrid on the one box.

Hello all!

 

I haven't done any distributed efforts since the early 2000's with distributed.net.  Found a few machines to harness some cpu time, decided on Rosetta as F@H was no work a couple of weeks ago. Now I'm addicted again to climbing the recent avg credit ladder.

Woot i am setup and Folding? for Boinc 

currently F@H is letting my beasts nap and that is unacceptable.  I refuse to let them nap when my office is currently 55F lol (might have had thermostat on window fan set wrong)...Bender is running along with my laptops on Boinc, and My gaming Rig is currently the only one running folding and my server is well serving(read napping) and my all in 1 is waiting on the ambulance to bring a new motherboard...

 

and just discovered a new lesson in Bonic DO NOT USE RDP if you have a gpu client...

Just switched the GPU over to Collatz for night shift, but it won't start. The status is: 'GPU Suspended - user request (0.988 CPU + 1 NVIDIA GPU).

 

How do I get it to start?

 

Edit: I'm an idiot, I had to manually enable the GPU...

Never used BOINC, went to the process and rule page for the Pentathlon, damn I'm confused.

But I can't explain why you don't show up in the team, the only thing I can think of is that all the times BS got the stats, that you didn't have credit yet.

It seems I am slowly showing up everywhere in there. When you go on my overview page at the bottom, it shows I'm apart of LTT so that's good.

Well I give up I can't make heads or tails of getting setup on Rosetta with team LTT. Unless there is an idiots guide ( because I am obviously an idiot) to getting it all setup I'll have to skip the Pentathlon

Install the project and then search "LinusTechTips_Team" on the join a team link on your BOINC account page

It will migrate you, but it can take days before it shows you on the team across all stats.

 

I was showing up on my defunct team for a couple days when I first joined, even though my account page showed me on LTT

I'm also interested in taking part the Pentathlon, I'm going to look into installing it today and see what's up.

I will also need clarification on a few things concerning the Pentathlon, but for now I will see if u can get things ready.

Made a BOINC account, how do I add my account to BOINC manager?

 

Edit: Do you have to join each project individually?

Joined Rosetta@home and add team Linustechtips, and its downloading the database. In projects properties its shows my user name, but team name is blank, do I just need to wait a while for it to update?

 

Edit: Its showing team as Linustechtips on another computer, I'm telling it to finish up its projects so I can uninstall it and then see if a reinstall fixes it.

If you have a BOINC/BAM! account, you can join each project and/or link your individual projects with each other through the BOINC/BAM! site. Alternatively, you can join each project individually through the BOINC Manager (and then link your individual accounts together with the BAM! site).

Do you mean that the Team entry is blank in the BOINC Manager? If so, try clicking the Update button.
