So my network decided to totally take a dive, I couldn't reach any of my servers, VMs (at all), or even the router very quickly and the Internet was sluggish.

Troubleshooting network issues like this sucks but I decided to disconnect a couple of my crunching rigs from the network and everything started working again.

Went on the WCG website and as it turns out one of my rigs stopped submitting jobs four days ago. My old 3930K rig.

So the 3930K rig must have kernel panicked and it started spewing nonsensical data onto the network. Gonna try to get it going again. Hope it behaves itself.

Congrats on the WCG badges.

They're neat but I'd like to see more work from other projects. Honestly I'd like to see IBM/WCG pick up Coronavirus. I'd pour all my resources into it and for what my daily average is it'd be substantial:

You guys spent all your money on GPUs I spent mine on CPUs :D.

Couple more weeks though and I'll finally have my BOINC Team Gold Contributor badge. Not much longer now.

Well that's it. I've hit the roof. I've just reached 4th place for WCG but even with all my CPU the next step up is approx 152 days away and that's not counting that I need to turn down my hardware soon as we're starting to fall out of winter in my area (weather's heating up). We'll see how much longer I can keep it going for but I have every intention of continuing to contribute even after I turn the equipment down I just need to manage the heat. Now there's just little point in continuing to watch BOINCstats because I won't move anywhere until almost the end of 2020.

I do have one seriously long term goal though that has no legitimate motive other than I think it sounds cool. I want to make up 10% of the team total credit for WCG.

By this time next year I think that will be achievable.

Semi-related I'm only weeks away from my BOINC Team Gold badge :P. Excited. It's only been 10 almost 11 months since I started.

In mean time, aimed my 1950X at Rosetta.

Darn, it comes near to LHC on being a RAM hog for WUs.  I really need to find me a good 64GB kit to bump up to.

I currently have a 32GB kit.  It is handling Rosetta fine atm.  LHC ATLAS WUs though, yeah, those basically love to eat all 32GB of it.

This being my main rig, I like having BOINC run in the background and do other stuff in the foreground.  Though, at times, I do manage to slow down the OS response to me if I have to much up at the same time.

I sometimes forget to tune BOINC down if I open up Blender or have Monster Hunter World up.  Minecraft don't bother it, though, I did forget one time that I had Minecraft, Youtube, Discord, two other file handling applications, and Blender open while BOINC was eating 85% of the CPU.  The 1950X got very unhappy with me.

Oh ok I see.

well I have BOINC in a Docker and the server is also doing different stuff in background. Guess that’s why my 32GB where not enough for 24t of Rosetta.
i never experimented with LHC stuff though

The sixtrack WUs by LHC are easy to do.  It is the big ATLAS WUs by them that run in VMs that use eight cores a pop per WU.  So, those really love RAM.  I still need to finish getting to the 1880 day badge for running those.  I'm close, but not there yet.

Need to get my 1900X back up and crunching as well.  Though, keep hoping to find a good deal on an used 2950X that I can switch into one of my setups.

In lack of FAH WUs i tried running asteroids at home, but all GPU tasks error out on start. Is there any known problems?

I have two GPUs, a 1660Ti and a mining 1070, can I somehow choose what GPU Boinc uses, the 1070 shows up as the first GPU so maybe Boinc doesn't like such an odd card?

Is there anywhere I can check whats wrong, logs or other messages, it doesn't show anything in the Stderr output on the website just says Computation error.

System is stable I have been running FAH for a week with small overclocks and no change when I removed them.
