Hello guys! I'ma random guy from Romania and i wanna build my own gaming pc.
I've search all the "my budget" componets but i have a problem, with the mother board ram teory.
I can't find online that information xD.
Soo my setup will be:
- ROG CrossHair VIII x570 Wi-Fi (mother board)
-Gigabyte RTX 2080 Super OC windforce 8gb 256gbs
-Aorus 2TB SSD NVMe Gen4
- AMD Ryzen 9 3900x 70mb 4.6ghz
(and that's all for now, cuz i searched for this for like 2 weeks and gathered all the information i need for the mother board support style)
And now, the RAM.
I saw online that the safespot for max performance for Ryze 9 3900x its the RAM with 3600mhz and 16CL. Leaving the RAM stock without OC the ram. Soo...
I chosed  GZSkill Trident Z Neo 32 gb ddr4 dual channel, i know that this tipe of ram itss 100% worth for my setup, cuz my motherboard its dualchannel ass the specs looks like.
But, i wanted to upgrade to 64gb ram, if the mother board its dualchannel, can i insert 2x Trident Z 32gb (2x 16) to go for 64 gb ram??
Or... Cand i put 8x16gb same Trident z 3600 16cl quad channel? To skip buying the 2x dual channel packs (2x16 + 2x16), and go straight for quadchannel 4x16gb??
Doest it works?
Or i'm obligated to buy 2x dual channel because my mother board its dual channel, to achieve the max performance i can get?

The dual channel kit with 2x16gb its around 450euros, and the quad channel 4x16gb its 500euros. I need to exceed the 64gb, but  i wanted to be more cheap.... Tell me your opinion, and if i can go safe, and for max performance with the quad channel 64gb, for a dual channel motherboard...?

Stay safe. ? Thanks.

To achieve 64gb of ram 3600mhz 16Cl with Asus Hero VIII x570 WiFi and AMD Ryzen 9 3900x will be:

4x 16 gb (2x dualchannel 2x16)

Or

4x16gb quadchannel?

I believe the X570 platform doesn't support quad-channel anyway.

x570 does not support Quad channel memory. Also, the kits themselves being labelled as quad channel is nothing but pure marketing bullshit. How many channels your CPU supports is up to Intel and AMD. All mainstream platforms are Dual Channel, while the HEDT is quad channel and up.

No support for quad, only HEDT's like threadripper and I honestly dunno what the present Intel equivalent of it is.....I know my old X79 Asus Rampage IV Extreme support quad with my 3960X. So you can either go with 2x 16GB or 4x 8GB (still doing dual channel), 32GB is more than enough. I have a GB X570 Aorus Xtreme + 3900X with 4x 8GB DDR4 3200 CL16, and I can assure you it's doing dual channel only.

How come a guy from Romania doesn't know about this great website? It has all the answers you need ? They did a very extensive Ryzen memory testing some time ago.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. For example, 3200 MHz 16-18-18 kits can be made of just about any IC available in the market (Samsung, Hynix, Micron), which can vary a lot in secondary and tertiary timings. More so, some of the timings are not available for a user to set. It may cause problems when buying 2 x dual channel kits which will have different ICs in them.

It is safe when you are sure that the kits use the same ICs, or know what you are doing.

Those timings are set by the motherboard vendor when testing the QVLs... the specific kit sub timings that a user cant adjust is really affected by that. Obviously there is so many different kits out there its impossible to test and validate and build profiles for all of them. But the branding on the RAM is pure bullshit. Since the RAM itself does not determine if its Dual channel or Quad channel, thats all on the CPU and platform its on.

Not really, marketed as quad channel means it supports running quad channel with 4 sticks together.

well yea, its been validated to work together as a quad kit, but its 95% marketing BS, same as the Intel or AMD ram branding.

yeah, mixup 2 sticks of Samsung and 2 sticks of Micron and tell us how it goes, or how well it overclocks?

Ok ok, then i'l go for 2x16gb dualchannel, and later i'l buy 1 more pack of 2x16 dualchannel. To go up for 64gb, because i need it. I hope they will work well... ?. Repply if you agree this ideea. If you have other ideas of how can i get 64gb, more cheap but with 3600mhz and 16Cl, also reply. ? Thanks for all people eho answeared.
