My harddrive dosent work.

i recently bought a pc but it only had a 250gb M.2. Naturally i have bought a 2tb hdd. The first time i installed it, it would not show up when i went to format disk. I tried switching sata cabel and sata port but it didnt work. So i sent it back to the manufacturer, and they have sent me a new one. This one dose not work either. I have now tried switching out the power cable aswell and use a diffrent port but it still dosent work. Any sugestions to what my next steps should be?
