Hi, I have just purchased 2x8 gb of Corsair Vengeance ram (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15R) and I would like to use it with my 2x4 gb corsair kit (CMK8GX4M2B3000C15R). I can see all 24gb in the BIOS, but Windows 10 says I only have 16gb installed. What is the problem? I have an Asus z170 pro gaming motherboard and an Intel i7-7700k cpu.

Are you on a 32bit version of Windows? I don’t remember if all versions of 10 support over 16 gigs or not. I know previous versions of Windows needed 64bit for that.

Does task manager report some of your RAM has hardware reserved? There have been a number of topics on this here in the forums. It could be that some of your RAM is damaged, not seated correctly or is e.g. reserved in BIOS (iGPU). It's also possible that Windows has reserved some of it, due to boot options.

Take a look here: https://appuals.com/windows-10-wont-use-full-ram/

One of the module is bad or not properly installed.

Get Memtest86 and test each memory one slot at a time.
