A lot of my friends are making the switch from Console to PC so I am trying to do the same. I have done a lot of research this week and think I have narrowed down to a CPU and GPU that fit me. I can go up on price from the $1200 dollar budget I have listed below but would really like to be convinced that I need to. Being new to the PC scene, I don't feel like I need anything overpowered, but that being said I want room to upgrade in the future and this set up not to be outdated quickly.

I am looking to play games like Destiny, Borderlands 3, and might start dabbling in Far Cry/Gears/Assassins Greed after the build.

Here is the build I came up with. I have seen a lot of recommendations on here for 5700XT. For the 3600X, just seems like the best bang for your buck at this point. For the motherboard, I saw a lot of recommendations for X570 but don't have any other reasoning for it than that. I will need WIFI on the motherboard or an adapter, so I figured just put it on the motherboard for ease. PSU and Case were kind of random TBH.

Only buy the 3600X if you'll use it's stock cooler since that's the only difference from the 3600, if you'll buy aftermarket cooling then it doesn't make sense.

Along side the MSi X570-A Pro these are the *WORST* motherboards on the entire X570 chipset line up on VRM and power phasing performance.

Very old PSU with outdated topology and lacking key security features, very much not recommended for a RX 5700XT.

The other parts looks okay for the most part.

Go for a crucial P1 1TB instead of the intel 660p+wd combo.

Search for the motherboard tier list and pick something from tier B that has wifi.

Go for a Corsair TX or RX PSU, 550 or 600W.

-Whats the reason to just go with a big SSD? Just more cost efficient?

-I am looking at ASUS ROG Strix X470-F Gaming AMD Ryzen 2 AM4 DDR4 DP HDMI M.2 ATX Motherboard. Is the BIOS update usually manageable to do? I have a laptop right now if that works?

-Would something like: Corsair RMx (2018) 550 W 80+ Gold Certified fit that bill?

@Princess Luna I noticed that the 3600 has a Wraith Stealth Cooler. Is that not sufficient? Also, any recommendations on Motherboards and PSU?

@Herman McpootisIs the 660P just not well rated?

@Stormseeker9 Any reason you changed the RAM to 3200?

Purely for cost. Grab 3600 If it fits budget
