Auto change networks while moving round the house?

So I have my Netgear Nighthawk set up, upstairs next to my main pc set up.

I use a tp link wifi extender to extend my wifi to the downstairs as the house is 3 floors. The extender copys my main router SSID and password, the only problem is my phone dosent auto connect to the best network, it will stay on 1 bar of signal until I turn the wifi on the phone off and back on.

Is there anyway to fix this?

Your talking about WiFi Roaming. Its really a mixed bag. Offically there are 3 seperate standards for roaming from the IEEE. That being said, all devices have to support the same standard. Each standard has pros and cons. Some companies implement their own standards. But all you can do is use the exact same AP's through out your network. Generally thats the perfered way to do roaming. However, some devices are not good at just swtiching. Ive heard Windows is poor at roaming between AP's. Its just how it is.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
