Want a job in cyber security but there’s no actual job offers for it near me. Do I bother studying to become one?

I have used indeed. And a whole lot of other job searches and in my area there’s sod all.

Same with other jobs I’ve been interested in there’s just no offers of the title anywhere near me. In fact one job I was looking at studying to become was 103 miles away >:(

do I study what I want to become or find a job in the same field but what is being offered near me?

Essentially you are asking whether it's more important to stay "at home" near family and friends, or pursue a career that may take you away but could provide you better satisfaction and a higher quality of life.

That is a decision that only you can make.

One thing of note here is that, generally speaking, secondary education offered for "cyber security" is usually a minor area of study of the Computer Science or IT majors. As a result, you could pursue that path, and then decide after graduation: You could take a job closer to home by using your general CS or IT skills, or take the security job that's further away, both with the same degree.

ENCRYPTION IS NOT A CRIME

no jobs means no jobs so look into IT but everyone is doing IT and there are experienced IT people out of work for a long time who will work for entry level wages. look for jobs that are being listed on job boards!

Get a job stocking shelves at the local supermarket overnight, then. Get any job first, save up, and then you'll have a "moving fund" for when the "perfect" job comes along.

This is real life - you gotta work for it.

Cyber security wage is very good so I would save money then move. Ask your local college to see if they have a job hiring for IT or cyber security.

There is a virtual cyber security company called Emsisoft that you can work at home. I would look into this as well. It is a legit company and I have used their products in the past.

Part of life is taking risks to get what you want.
Plus you said you have to finish school first (which I can only assume is a fair ways off, based on your post history), so you're in no rush. Just save.
