Whats faster Ethernet of wifi pcie card?

Is a Ethernet connection faster than a wifi card? If not what are some great wifi cards.

Generally wired is faster, but in my opinion the reliability of ethernet is much better.

But of course you could have shit wiring and very good WiFi, or vice-versa, so I can't say for sure what would be best.

 

If you can, I recommend running an ethernet cable. Otherwise, Asus makes decent network cards, be sure to get one with external antennas you can move though; as otherwise the antennas are just on the back of the case (where WiFi wont be great)

My internet is very inconsistent. It has random drops. And it really slow.

A number of things can cause that but generally going wired is great at eliminating half of them.

Ethernet (or simply known as wired) is king.  It always will be.  WiFi has it's place to be sure, but even WiFi cannot exist without Ethernet somewhere.

 

WiFi has two large disadvantages:

 

1.  Latency (gaming, VoIP, for example don't like high latency)

2.  Reliability (WiFi is subject to lots of potential interference)

But 802.11ax (WiFi 6) is BLAZING if your ISP offers the speeds, and if you have no metal, concrete, thick walls between client and router or AP.
