1440p high refresh.. a bit "confused"

have been running a dell 2715Q 4K IPS display since my older 970´s SLI, and it is fine, but feeling the pressure in some games running 4k on a 1080ti today.. and i am not ready to buy a 2080TI for 10k Dkkr.

so looking at 1440p screens, and currently the 850GL IPS LG seems to hit the mark, a really high grade IPS panel with 1MS (around 3MS in real life)..

but now i am getting a bit curious, is this really needed, the HIGH GRADE panel? VA 1440p screens seems cheap and does have better colors than TN panels, i know that the data on pixel update time does not really support 144+ hz on a VA since the don´t react quickly enough

but coming from a 4K IPS 60hz panel, would i not feel it as a quantum leap to run 144-165hz on a VA Panel? i really do like that black levels on VA also why all my tv screens are VA based, since IPS really are not good for black levels..

and i do not want to either own a TN or go all the way down to 1080p since 4K today looks awesome.

As a user of an 32GK650F LG I can tell you it's better to invest in a decent 144Hz VA and a calibration tool than an IPS.

And 32" isn't too big for 1440p, the pixels are similarly sized to 24" 1080p pixels.

9300dkk on proshop for an asus 2080ti btw. but i agree going from a 1080ti to 2080ti is so much money for such low preformance increase

the TUF screen is price at the same level of the 1440p GL850 that is highly regarded..

was thinking more of a cheaper panel in VA maybe half the price, an example is that Space saver Samung panel with VA and 1440 runs for 2000dkkr (half the price of that TUF and GL850) seems like a cheap offer, but yes fall and rise, and overdrive are not the best on it..

but would it not be a GREAT edition for gaming, compared to my 4k... 1440p is already much worse looking for me on 27" than 4K so going to a 32 inch is not an option for me..

i feel like 4000dkkr is a bit to much for a simple 1440p VA panel... and really do not like the "gamer" versions of screens, the GL850 is decent, because of no RGB and design trinkets like the ASUS TUF..

could a get a normal DELL design with 1440p and VA (the office design we normally use) then i would jump for that..

and really don´t care about g-sync and Freesync, i do have it on my laptop with a high refresh 1440p G-sync panel, but tearing never annoyed me...  Vsync did, because i could feel the latency.

@RasmusDC

One of the many problems plaguing Monitor LCD displays is uniformity. Poor uniformity can ruin even a VA when it comes to dark image performance.

As such i would only consider monitor that have been reviewed thoroughly and result in a 'passable' level of uniformity.

In this instance, since ur after a 144hz 1440p display, only 4 monitors from rtings list of reviewed monitors can do 144hz and have 'passable' uniformity. 1 TN (amazingly) and 3 VA.

TN ~1000 contrast ratio. No HDR. 10bit. freesync

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/aoc/agon-ag271qx

VA ~3000 contrast. No HDR. 8bit. Freesync, Very Slow 0-20 transition. Has BFI

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/32gk650f-b

VA ~2600 contrast. No HDR. 8bit. G-Sync. Very respectable 0-20 transition

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/32gk850g-b

VA ~3000 contrast. HDR capable. 10bit. freesync. Slow 0-20 transition.

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/dell/s3220dgf

Now rtings doesnt have a huge list of reviewed monitor. 88 last time i checked. however if u have a specific monitor in mind that rtings doesnt have reviewed, check ttcentral.co.uk, they to review monitors well however use a different method, so u cant compare 1 monitor result on rtings vs 1 monitor on tftcentral.
