MSI Vega 56 keeps crashing

Hey, need a little help with my new GPU. It keeps black screening in games and then the computer starts up again, I've tried using 2 power cables instead of daisy chaining, I've tried DDU and driver reinstall and I've tried to lock my memory voltages and memory clock speeds. It's an MSI Vega 56 (not airboost or morpheus), can be flashed to 64. Anyone got any idea of what's going on with it?

 

Core specs of my system for those who need it:

Ryzen 3 1200 (stock)

MSI Vega 56

8GB Vengeance LPX DDR4 3133 C15

Corsair CX750M Grey Label

 

I'm upgrading to a 3600 within the next couple months, just thought I'd mention that before I get someone who goes off topic and talks about my CPU.

So it's already been flashed with a fresh bios?

What is that memory though...

 

Try dropping the power target to either -50% or +50% and see what happens. Start with -50%

tried +50 last night, didn't work. Gonna try -50% when I get home. The RAM frequency and timings were done by me, my XMP profile only goes up to 2800 C16.

Afterburner running in the background? Latest BIOS on the motherboard?

if -50% power doesn't work you probably just want to flash the bios again with another new one.

Or doesn't every Vega GPU have dual bios? Probably just try switching it.

Where's the bios switch on them? Could have a try at using the 2nd bios.

Nah I removed afterburner from the equation to see if it would help and set everything in wattman instead.

Alright, how do I compensate for the performance loss when setting the power limit to -50? @Streetguru

If it stopped crashing, then just keep it around -20%/-10% or manually lower the clockspeeds/voltage

If it's flashed to vega 64 the memory might not be able to handle the extra clock speed.

 

more likely the PSU may not be able to power it at stock power draw, would only know it's the issue if you're able to borrow a different one from someone naturally.

I don't see how a CX750M Grey label could be the problem since it meets requirements for the V56 but I suppose its a possibility.

I am having the same issue with my cx750m grey label.Don't replace the gpu or do an Rma. when i plug in another psu it works so I did an RMA. The RMA unit had the same issue. I woud recommend getting a different psu preferably not the cx's
