GTX 1080 for 2020

I'm currently planning a PC upgrade and was wandering if a GTX 1080 (The card I currently have) for 1440p will hold out in 2020. The upgrade and ray tracing performance of the RTX cards were disappointing and I'm curious to see what the rumoured ampere cards will be like.I'm mainly just worried for Cyberpunk 2077

Currently waiting to see next gen graphics performance

Then yes, absolutely. It's not that old of a card. Even my 980 still does a pretty reasonable job.
