So last month my gpu started to just overheat out of no where now it doesnt work i notice a little corrosion on the top of the card so when i took the fan and heatsink off i notice that the bottom layer was covered in an oily like liquid would anyone know what it is or what caused it

Check all of the caps, one (or more) is probably leaking.

paraffin oil from thermal pads?

can you describe more or any pictures??

 

I did have unknown oily substance found on a gpu after ~ a yr of use, wiped it away, nothing was affected

Can you provide a photo, usually oil or grease from a GPU is due to the oil in the thermal pads wicking out overtime due to the heating and cooling cycles which is normal.

That oil residue on the mid plate where the GPU die looks to be the silicone oil that has leeched out of the thermal pads which won't be of harm just not so nice looking. However for the rear of the PCB that definitely looks to be corrosion from water or something else. You can clean that off that using a soft bristle brush and some isopropyl alcohol.
