need help with high fps build

hi everyone i have a prebuilt dell that i plan to use the intel 8400 out of however am having trouble deciding on the rest i plan on building in a new case and maybe be able to upgrade later to 9th gen i7 or so.

mostly trying to power my 1440p 144hz monitor. i play far cry 5 and gears 5 mostly. i have been using a shadow server and want to run my own machine now. any help is appriciated!!!!

which dell prebuilt do you have?
