Help diagnosing the most likely cause of my new build not posting

Good evening all,

I have recently built a system with specs as follows:

GPU:PowerColor Radeon RX580

CPU:AMD Ryzen5 3600

Memory: 12GB Corsair Vengance DDR4 RAM

Motherboard:ASUS B450-I Mini ITX

Here are some things I have observed that might help:

1.I previously used the RAM and GPU on another build (X99) which was aborted due to the motherboard likely being deffective. In this build I observed no output whatsoever onto my TV but this time the TV registers a 50Hz input and shows a technicolour mess on my screen, similar to the below taken from another forum and used for ilustrative purposes.

2.Without the GPU installed, and with both RAM sticks installed the motheboard shows a DRAM error light and by removing one the error light dissapears with only one stick; suggesting one of my RAM sticks is faulty. However, when the GPU is installed the DRAM error light remains on regardless of which RAM stick is installed in the system.

These are the main observations I have made during the course of fiddling about with things. Additionally, I was wondering whether the MB needs a BIOS update to run the new Ryzen 5 chipset and this could be a reason for it not booting. Its worth pointing out that there have been no other error lights on the motherboard.

So this is all the information I can give at the moment and I'm quite depressed that it hasnt just booted. I have considered taking it to a PC repair shop where they can swap out compponents to figure out what is faulty, but I dont have much money at the moment and don't really fancy paying just for someone to tell me what is wrong. If y'all could read this over and offer any suggestions as to what the most likely cause(s) is I would be very thankful.

Cheers,

THN

Your motherboard says it's "Ryzen 3000 ready", however that doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't need a BIOS update,  as it contradictory says in the description "Gen 1 & Gen 2 Ryzen support"

You could try updating the BIOS - if you have a compatible CPU or try a repair shop  which doesn't sound like a bad idea either,  especially if you don't have a compatible CPU.

Though it's still possible Ryzen 3000 ready actually means it's compatible, I had a B450 Tomahawk Max which said that and which was actually compatible and didn't need a BIOS update for Ryzen 3000.

(btw I don't recommend this board regardless, because it kept crashing my PC randomly,  which I suppose was an issue with the RAM or similar)

RAM works no issues on my B350M mortar however,  no crashes either unless I OC my GPU too much lol.

Well it sucks your PC doesn't boot,  hope you can get it fixed, a BIOS update shouldn't be too expensive I guess.
