LG Monitor Issue (and terrible RMA experience)

What am I looking at? All I see is normal IPS glow and minor backlight bleeding. IPS panels don't typically suffer from burn in.

Sorry for crap quality video, you need to set it at highest quality to see this.

Youtube has terrible bitrate so it's hard to see at low resolution.

Basically my first screen with text stays on top of my other  darker tabs.

And IPS burn in occurs less than OLED. Doesn't mean it does not happen. I think I really bumbed out on this panel :(

Okay, I see it now. It's most evident at about 0:05-0:06. Is it permanent or does it fade away after a couple of minutes? If it fades away, then it may be normal for this specific panel, and you may not have any luck with a replacement.

Either way, start by contacting LG and see what they have to say.

It's not permanent and it goes away in 10-30minutes (varies randomly)

This panel did not do this before.

I would have returned it if this showed this symptom from the start.

If you're still in the warranty period contact the manufacturer.

Be sure to QUOTE or TAG me in your reply so I see it!

So... This just happened......

This guy literally doesn't listen to me, says what he wants and leaves instantly.

I didn't even get to ask him my other questions because he left 2 seconds after posting whatever he wanted to say. (Check time stamp, actual 2 sec)

I have gone through countless RMA and this is probably the worst experience I've ever had.

That guy clearly had a hot date or something to get to and didn't want to bother.  I'd try again and see if you can get someone more willing to help.  Are you expecting a mail-in RMA, or would bringing it to a service center be acceptable to you?

That's an hour drive for me. I'd prefer a quick mail but LG centre will do as long as they give me replacement.

If they tell me to wait anything more than 5 days for them to fix, I can't. I need that screen for work.

I bought a somewhat color accurate HDR monitor for a reason.

I will try again tomorrow but I'm not too happy right now :/

EDIT:

After talking to them on the phone, I have decided not to go to the store.

They said they will not replace my unit.

They will "fix" my monitor.

However, they said minimum 2 weeks assuming all the parts are in.

But mostly likely they will need to ship my parts in and they don't know how long they will take.

I need this monitor for work and even with this burn-in it's better than not having a monitor at all.

I will eventually buy a new monitor (probably over black friday).

I'll be honest, LG makes nice displays but I don't think I will get their product again because of the experience I've had.

The guy on the phone was even more rude than the guy on chat.
