Upgraded my internet. Now my POE cameras keep dropping.

Go to solution Solved by Founders,

Check your router first for the port forwarding. Does the DVR have a static local IP you setup or is this literally all plug and play? Your router will list the DVR's IP if your not sure what it is. Login to your DVR and double check for any errors. Sometimes it's something really simple, have you tried another ethernet cable between the two?

So i just upgraded my Verizon from 150 Mbps to 400 Mbps.  After that everything seems to be working fine except my Zmodo camera system. The system is POE with a DVR. I have the system hard wired to my router and keep getting loss of signal from my cameras. i had no issues before upgraded. If i remove the network cable the cameras all come back on and work like crazy. Anyone have any ideas?

Login to your DVR and check the error reporting. Is the DVR or any of the cameras actually losing power or is the whole system just freezing up? Need more info to help you. Increasing bandwidth from your ISP wouldn't be causing that. If they reset your modem and that's handling DHCP and port forwarding that could be the source of the issue. Check the port forwarding on your router to ensure the ports are still open for your DVR.

My DVR is 3 years old and doesn't have a error report that i can find, Its happy homeowner type equipment. I'll check my router but i provided the router. Verizon just terminates at there fiber bar. I run everything after.  The cameras arn't losing power because i can still see the IR lights lit up. Basically they just stay frozen in place. Once i remove the network cable all the camera jump back to life.  It's the weirdest thing. Logically nothing the network is doing should be affecting these cameras.
