Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB vs Corsair MP600 2TB

So I want to upgrade my SSD and have narrowed it down to 2 options:

 

1. Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

2. Corsair MP600 2TB

 

I will also get a X570 motherboard, and since it has PCIe 4.0, I feel it would be a waste not to use it. The speed benchmarks are very impressive.

 

On the other hard, I have heard from a lot of Youtubers (& specifically Linus ) that the Samsung SSD's are simply the way to go.

The specs tell me the 970 EVO Plus also has SLC cache, but what is that exactly and what does it do?

Either those videos came before PCIe gen 4 drives and X570 reach the market, or they're being dumb. Samsung pricing has long been painful, and now with PCIe 4 drives taking over the high end market there's no place for them anymore.

running part of the TLC cells in SLC mode for higher speed. Pretty much all mid range and high end SSDs do this, including the MP600.

I don't really see the point in buying PCIe 4.0 storage right now...the chances of you actually benefiting from it are quite low.
