As someone who has a custom watercooled machine, I feel inclined to recommend water cooling, however, a cooler like an Arctic Accelero will provide amazing cooling performance. They're also quite afordable.

you can pick up an arctic accelero for $50-60 on amazon or newegg.

What are the temps? Had several fe and I couldn’t say temps are bad even compared to the strix I had. 

 

The evga acx cooler will mount all the same as that’s a reference board. 

 

Or get a block and really cooler the card. 

 

I picked up a 1060 and used the 1080 block so I’m going to see if the 1060 acx cooler will mount as well. I assume the base plate will be the actual difference though.
