i52400 is overheating to 95 celcius.

The stock intel fan is spinning at max 2000rpm.

Is the fan faulty?

Will changing the fan help solve it.

 

Its normal temperature while web browsing

It heats while gaming  only.

There also is no background process running

Have you tried removing the cooler, cleaning it, and re applying thermal paste?

I would clean it up, if it's dusty, and change the thermal paste. The stock heatsink is just fine, even for gaming. It shouldn't be hitting 95ºC.

The fan is making high pitch noise. Is it mean the fan is dead

Fan is making noise. Its also 8 year old

I haven't taken cpu fan from the cpu since the day one.

What paste should be applied?

No. It uses intel thermal paste.

Use any trusted thermal paste and you will be good, try applying new thermal paste as mentionned, maybe a new cheap cooler could also help a bit.

If the cooler is just really dusty you could grab a can of compressed air to blow dust out. The fan is making so much noise because it's spinning really fast, trying to cool the processor. If you clean the dust off the cooler and it is still really loud and hot, consider replacing the thermal paste (there are a lot of options and there's not a lot of difference between them) or buy a cheap cooler.
