I am looking to stream some games, edit videos. And make sure nothing out of my limits but I dont want to break the bank. It's been YEARS since I build a pc and I'm not sure how to get the best bank for my buck now.

What Budget/Country what kind of games? Are you only going to be streaming to twitch?

A pretty good machine is like $1200, with an R7 3700X + RX 5700

Well to be honest I'm not sure. I'm open to spend... $2000 but was hoping to pay $1,500. I love games like arma but I star citizen looks good too. I'm not sure what I should be looking at to game and stream. I want to make sure that I have the availability to do anything if it requires some upgrade and later that's fine but I want to make sure I'm not cut off from any options. VR also looks incredibly interesting but that's not something I'm immediately interested in but want available in the future. Also thanks for your reply is greatly appreciated.

To be honest 1500-2000 but I would like to run everything at 144 but what ever you guys think is best is what I'll look into.i have been out of the pc scene for like 5 years.

Arma is still kind of a pain I think, but everything else would run perfectly fine

Here's a potential fix list
https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/arma-3-only-using-a-single-thread-terrible-fps.3326742/

I would either get a 1080p 240hz display, with a 4K TV or monitor on the side for non esports games/content

Or just get a 1440p 100-120hz Ultra wide.

That RX 5700 is just cheap because of the average C- quality cooler, A top end RX 5700XT is like $450 with a near silent cooler, rest are in the middle.

If you want a more overkill case get a Coolermaster H500 or an 011 Dynamic around $100, 011 needs additional fans.

PC by itself ended up around $1,200, add a 2TB or 4TB NAS hard drive if you want more mass storage.

Well considering the issues with Arma having almost no multi-core support should I focus on a processor with higher base clocks? Should I look into overclocking? And I really do appreciate can you help me out here. I'm going to go through all of this in the morning after I get off the phone with Sony hopefully I can get my TV replaced. Anyway I digress good night and again thank you so much

The 3700X doesn't need to be overclocked

Even a 5ghz 8700K ain't doing too great. ARMA's just pretty unoptimized still. So I wouldn't really spend the extra $200 to get the 9900K.

There's a guy that I know trying to get rid of his EVGA 1080ti ftw3. He's asking 550 bucks that seems like a pretty good deal. Would it be worth getting two cards? Also I'm going to primarily use my 85 in Sony TV for the time being I'm going to get all my peripherals and stuff later currently I'm strictly interested on building the tower itself. It's super annoying because I'm also trying to buy a house so between stressing over the house and the computer my brain is melting and I can't even keep things Straits I literally just got off the phone 5 minutes ago and it was asking a guy if he still had parts of ailable but he I was calling about the house and just continued to have this ridiculous conversation with me for like 10 minutes without explaining to me that he was a realtor LOL

After laying some of this information to my friend he told me I should be looking at a RTX 2070 super considering it would be about the same price as that use 1080ti

An RX 5700/XT is 80-90% as fast as the 2070 super at $150-100 off, but if that TV is 4k, it has a way to cheat out more performance with radeon image sharpening.

If you were trying to run native 4k I'd overclock a 2080 super

1080tis need to drop to $450 for gaming performance, but the 11GBs of VRAM keeps them very useful for production workloads.

^ THIS.

I've played ARMA in the past quite frequently. The optimization is horrible. Even my friends who play with me have been complaining about it and they have more powerful PCs than me.

Aside from Arma Star Citizen is looking quite interesting to me. Currently I think I have a Sony XBR-75X850E. I understand this probably isn't that good for gaming but it'll do for the time being I also have a smaller Samsung TV. But if you guys think that this TV will be good enough I'll just stick with this and worry about a monitor later you're going to want to know how. I wanted to build a his and hers set up to be completely honest. My wife likes games but I'm completely against consoles as they are a complete waste of money and time in my opinion I'm sure somebody's going to be upset I said that LOL. Ideally we wanted to build the PCS around 1500 bucks but I do understand that I might have to go to 2000. I don't mind things that are out of the price range because I could always shop around for used items which to be completely honest is probably what I'm more interested in doing because then I get more bang for my buck. Thank you so much for your help you were being a lot of help I've gained a lot of information from you.

The PC itself really doesn't need to cost more than like $1200

just get a windows key for $5 on ebay

you can get way cheaper RGB fans from ebay. May need some RGB controller boxes still though.

In all reality I will not be paying for a Windows key I don't really care for Windows and they don't really care for me so I'm not going to give them any more money. Piracy is key to a good future in this digital age. My wife wants the RGB for the Aesthetics we have a bunch of smart home stuff and it's going to be in our living room so stuck with an I guess. Also these were the best parts I could find I just traded them out for RGB version switch cost a little bit more but may have even helped performance slightly moving up to some more expensive versions. The Windows key was put on there by my buddy he believes in buying products and all that nonsense. As if it makes a difference.

Wow you're way better at this than I am. I couldn't get it any lower than 1,700. I could definitely get some super super cheap RGB fans but they're going to look like shit Corsair has some of the best and they're probably going to be super loud. I don't want it to look like a budget rig LOL. I don't even think I'm going to buy a PC because this thing looks like shit to be honest. I still don't think I'm going to be able to play Star Citizen and that's the only game I'm genuinely trying to play maybe some escape from tarkov and stuff but if I can't run Star Citizen I don't think I'm interested in really even doing this

If you're after aesthetics why not just do a custom water cooling loop in an 011 Dynamic or something?

No idea about star citizen performance.
