Hey, i don't know if i changed any stupid settings or something but all my games suddenly are running with a really low LOD bias (around 5 feet infront of me it goes to low textures or completely disappears if it is small) and shadows do the same thing. I've reinstalled drivers to no avail. The games i've tried are Garry's Mod, The Outerworlds, GTA 5, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019.) Here is an example:  [https://streamable.com/fu908](https://streamable.com/fu908)

I have reinstalled the games

I have reinstalled windows

I have reinstalled drivers

Please save me.

I have no idea why that would continue to happen after reinstalling windows.

What storage drive are you loading the games from? Maybe try only the SSD?

You can make an ubunutu USB and run it without installing it to test steam and some games under linux.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I kinda expect a title like that to be followed with “my family is being held hostage and the kidnappers cut off my mothers hand and mailed it to me” and not “my games are being dumb”

Check the global graphical configuration settings in the AMD catalyst control panel, if it’s in every game then it’s probably a global setting with the hardware.

my family is being held hostage but that’s not important rn. i can’t seem to find a global setting that could cause this, reset them all to default in the gaming section and nothing happened

I mean like unplug one drive or the other and only use one drive

or use neither with the linux USB and unplug them from the system

that's the only thing I can think of that would cause such an issue.

i don’t see how unplugging a drive would fix the issue

A broken hard drive or SSD could just be very slow at loading in assets, or be messing with the system in some other way.

I've seen a DVD drive slow down an entire system, unplugging it fixed it straight away.

Just see what happens with an ubuntu USB and running games from that without the hard drive or SSD plugged in.

IMO that look like driver related. Happened in all game?

Try check Disk Activity Response Time in Resource Monitor for any I/O bottleneck.

GTA:V actually have pretty shit LOD especially the shadows.

Did you accidentally locked Aniso Filter to x0 or something? Try force it to x16 in Radeon Settings.
