ryzen 7 3700x or ryzen 5 2600 with rtx 2070 144hz

I have the budget for a ryzen 73700x and a very cheap monitor 1080p used or a ryzen 5 2600 and the opportunity to pick a 144hz 1080p asus strix monitor what could be better I have already bought an rtx 2070 and I have the motherboard and the power supply corsair rm850x

long term it would be best to go with the 3700x and get a cheap monitor now and upgrade sad monitor later as its the cheaper option later.

Why not the 3600? In gaming it’s almost identical to the 3700x and will be better than the 2600x. You could combine that with a nice monitor that doesn’t have the strix tax on it.

The R5 3600 is your best pick... it games the same as the R7 3700X

 

The R5 2600 may be cheaper but it does game worse and might not be up for the task of 144fps on your games.

I don'T see the point of buying an overkill CPU for the task you need and a shitty monitor, then sell and loose money with the old monitor and by a new one. Get a 100-120hz monitor and a 3600, it will get the job done and you won't notice the difference between 120 and 144hz. Buying something now because you can't afford the better product is a waste of money we all did here. Just my 2 cents

but the difference between the 3600x and the 3700x in price is about 50 dollars here in Mexico and a cheap 144hz monitor can cost about 200 dollars

I don't have an old monitor this is a new build the only thing I have from before is the mouse and keyboard

The 3600X is not worth it, get the 3600 you will save another 50$
