RM750i or HX850i (no warranty),can they damage the components in pc?

So I have 2 options:

1. to buy RM750i used one for 100euros with 2y warranty (but I'm positive it was used for mining)

2.to buy HX850i for 235 euros (no warranty,just test period 1-2 days).

I'd go for option number 2 but I wonder how unlucky can I be for this model to fail and can it burn/damage components inside my PC?

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

maybe just buy your psu new? psus and storage are the two parts you shouldn't buy second hand if you don't have the tools to test it

and i assume you don't have 10k dollars free for this

I forgot to mention HX850i is new one,but no warranty because guy is selling me for 240 euros, which is kinda weird...

Do they all come with nylon bag over box?

I assume that way is brand new.

Used PSUs don't have any warranty. If you can't afford a new 750W PSU, you do absolutely not need one. Get a lower wattage new PSU.

I asked the guy and he told me it's brand new,and that it has nylon bag over box.

How can a use PSU have that?

Maybe is refurbished?

Just get a new psu. Why do you need 750w anyway? 550w is plenty for most systems.

If you have that kind of money, just buy something from a shop. What makes you want these two, for such high amounts?

Either PSU could fail and destroy your system. So can a new one from a shop. It's really just luck of the draw, though PSU failures are rather low.

Check how Corsair will deal with the warranty for you; if you're required to pay for shipping it might not even be worth having.

So I should ship PSU from Bosnia to USA over a cruiser? :D

No Corsair here my friend, neither no EVGA.

So after all even modern PSUs can damage PC?

If it were me, Id go with the 1 with a transferable warranty.  If no transferable warranty I would get the cheapest unit available, because you don't know what you are getting and if its going to blow out, may as well be the cheaper of the two blow outs.

I personally however have never had a PSU take out any components when it fails.  I had my EVGA 600B go boom 2 weeks ago on me, didn't take anything out with it.  Ran that thing since 2013 or so.

For me, and I love my PSU folks on this website they are amazing - I just don't buy into all the "taking out my PC components with it" because Ive had so many PSUs fail over 20 years (OEM on down) and not a single one took components with it, that my use case says - don't worry about it so much because well, the reason its my advice is I do not worry about my PSUs taking out components.

No.  Almere, Netherlands.

Oh Jonny and would cost me a ticket to Nederlands Amsterdam maybe watching naked girls in famous area :D

Hmmm I really can't decide.

A friend of mine used 850 G2 for mining and never had issues with it.

Sadly that series is out of stock,I could afford used one for 90 euros but no warranty.

I have used good old Fortron I don't know what happen with that manufacturer but that PSU still works pretty good.

Last PC I bought V850 and so far so good, altough never trusted CM can make good PSU because Jonny I was on your website you don't test CM that much.

So it all brings me back to Corsair,I love digital control of parameters with Link software.

I don't need more then 650W.

But this guy is so suspicious to me I mean H850i for 140 euros, can't be trusted good.

Then I'd take my chance with that model,if I assume that if this model fails won't bring my pc fail with it.

So what you think my dear expert JonnyGuru,I mean how unlucky I need to be for H850i to fail on me (no warranty)?

After all I have a PSU CM GX 650W but I read bad reviews about it,so I wouldn't trust this model at all because from what I read it uses kinda old technology, and I really wouldn't want it to damage other components.

Jonny if you tell me GX650W Bronze is bad model, then we go to option 1 or 2.

Someone mentioned you gave bad opinion about this model,I searched you website with this model but no results.

The advantage is that under option 1 guy gives me warranty but the hell with it if that PSU was used for mining (I assume).

I see one offer of 850 G2 for 130 euros which I think is a lot for Gold PSU.

I'd love to see failure rate of Corsair PSUs depending on model.

100 eur for 750RMi ain't bad with 2 year warranty,but then again it's used.

I'm not an expert but lets make some logic new component would last longer then used, right, lets exclude warranty.

And you forgot to tell me which I asked you does new Corsair PSU come in a box with nylon bag over it?

I like the look of these, there is a new kid in the town, but how good are these models:

I mean I'm in love with RGB...

This one is kinda cheap, around 50 euros.

Any experience with those models,guys?

Segotep is a good brand in Eastern Europe.

SilentiumPC has some good units as well.

Gamdias Assrape is a bad PSU.

By "nylon bag", do you mean "shrink wrap"?  Anyone can shrink wrap a box.  The equipment is available everywhere.  I used to work at CompUSA and one of the guys would take software home every night, burn a copy of it, then bring it back and shrink wrap it.

It's not great, and it's quite old.

A used power supply has plastic shrink wrap over the box? That's dodgy. The only reason that would be the case if they're trying to mislead people in to thinking it's a new power supply.

This is what I asked you.

The seller got PSU but I'm suspicious about it.

Do the come in nylon pouch/bag sealed all over box?

I don't see that in this case.

How can I know that the BOX is not opened?

Is there a seal or something?
