MY GPU KEEPS LOOSING SIGNAL TO MY MONITOR HELP

i recently bought a gpu its a r9 270x from power color im using a sata to pcie for power and i keep getting gpu crashes or somthing my system will still be on 

but i wont get a signal i can barley get past the windows login help would be great thanks

Get a power supply with proper PCIe connectors. That is a bad practise, especially for cards that pull a lot of watts.

 

And if you have a PSU that does not have PCIe connectors... it's possibly very old and should be replaced by now.

 

EDIT: SATA power connectors can't supply over 54W, GPUs can easily pull more than that. And using more than one SATA connector on the same cable is recipe for something really bad (maybe even fire hazard).
