Are you trying to do heavy gaming on it? A used laptop with a dedicated GPU would be better for that, but would have next to no battery life.

You should be able to find a Matebook D with an R5 2500U on ebay for that budget, or an R5 2500U laptop on ebay in general.

What games or other software do you need to run?

I mean, it depends what you're doing with it. If you're looking for an up to date general use/media laptop that's going to last you for a few years if you treat it right, that's it. If you're looking to do any kind of gaming more intense than 2D side scrollers, step up to a Ryzen 5/Vega 8 or Ryzen 7/Vega 10. If you're looking for serious 3D gaming, there's no APU solution out there that really works well at this point.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Acer Switf3 or swift5 also have Ryzen 2500u / 3xxxu options, it has IPS 1080p which is great.

IPS monitors almost certainly have a good color reproduction.

Non-IPS monitors can be a bit of a gamble if you cannot see them on hand.

I've seen some bad 1080p TN panel which have a  horrible colors.

Some TN / VA panels are not that bad, but in budget laptop usually they give you the worst.

The matebook is probably the best gen 1 Ryzen laptop though

Whatever laptop you buy just make sure it has a decent IPS screen and dual channel memory.

But I'd highly suggest checking ebay for R5 2500U machines

for general use you don't need high / middle end performance.

There's a new swift with Athlon 300u, a rebadge version of 2200g (2core / 4 threads).

The difference between them is the cache size, like comparing Celeron with a full fledge Core.

If you just need to browse, media consumption or office, this is good enough.

I've seen good review with 100+ fps on CSGO (720p low) on the vega 3.

With 1080p IPS and aluminium body, it's totally worth it.

Another options are Lenovo Ideapad / thinkpad with Ryzen 3200u. Also Asus Vivobook. But IPS panel is optional.
