120mm fans for blower GTX1070?

Hey,

 

I have Asus GTX1070 Turbo in my PC and I started to hate the noise it makes even in idle. It's performance is ok for me so I don't want to buy anything different so there's the question...

How bad idea is removing the plastic cover from the card and putting there 2 120mm fans instead? It has small heatsink but when I tried just one 120mm fan over heatsink the temps were great (in stress test) and it was suprisingly quiet. But VRM was too hot for me (it wasn't covered by the fan) so I wonder...if I put second fan over the VRM and some other components (maybe add little heasinks) would it be safe?
