Hi!

Looking for a decent work/gaming PC, around 1500USD, and ideally quite..

Any comments suggestions are welcomed! :)

Thanks!

  1. On spec the CPU cooler is quite, but should I replace it?
I'm going for mini ITX case so maybe AIO is better?
  2. MB+CPU pairing, Googling I saw there's a BIOS update.. so it's OK, right..?
  3. VCard, I prefer NVIDIA for the CUDA support..
  4. Monitors debate is in another thread :

What's with the higher end 1440p high refresh rate monitors but only a 1660ti?? Seems like you're way overspending. There are plenty of things you can do to not only get a better but less expensive setup.

Main Desktop: CPU - i9-14900k | Mobo - Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | GPU - Sapphire AMD RX 7900XTX Nitro+ 24GB RAM - Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 64GB 6400mhz | AIO - Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360mm | PSU - Corsair RM1000X | Case - Hyte Y40 - White | Storage - Samsung 980 Pro 1TB Nvme /  Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 4TB Nvme / Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB Nvme / Samsung 870 EVO 4TB SSD / Samsung 870 QVO 2TB SSD/ Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD|

TV Streaming PC: Intel Nuc CPU - i7 13th Gen | RAM - 16GB DDR4 3200mhz | Storage - Crucial P3 Plus 1TB Nvme |

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S24+ - Ceramic White 512GB |

was the goal to build the best machine for the price or did you simply want to over pad the budget up to 2800 because theres not a lot of computer there for the price.

I am going to pick only one of those 3 monitors (point 4) - probably the cheapest.

let's see, a couple questions before i start

what's the use? with what programs? 1500 i assume is just the tower?

and does it have to be itx, or are you fine with matx?

Programs - Mostly programming, nothing intensive basically text editing.. (but maybe some CUDA work in the future)

Correct, 1500 for the tower only.

I prefer a smaller case..

Gaming at 1080p, doesn't need to be at Ultra... ;)

Today I have GTX 765M --> can't run anything new.
