Just looking for an entry level system for a just chatting streamer that want's to enter the PCMR.  Probably just minimally demanding games

Yeah, that should be fine as long as the games aren't too CPU-intensive and the quality isn't super high.

would a cpu upgrade be useful? Not sure how much room there is to improve from vishera, that's from an era when I wasn't into tech.  What cpu would you recommend if any?

 

*edit: how on god's green earth is everyone charging $200 for AM3+ cpu's?

My current machine is a 7600k @ 5ghz and a 1070 but this isn't for me.  It's a just chatting streamer that I watch and she's trying to figure out how to enter the PCMR.  I'm offering to send her a spare machine that I have to start so she can put her budget on peripheral's then work on building a new tower

 

*edit: I offered to build her a machine but she turned that down so maybe she'll accept something I already have that I'm not spending money on

You can get something like this pretty cheap, ebay has 0% interest for 6 months credit offers through pay pal too...

Just sub in an R5 1600 or R7 1700 from ebay

 

and add an $80-120 RX 470/480/570/580

 

and either a 1Tb hard drive or a 240/500GB SSD. + $50-60 most likely. a 660p would be preferable.
