I'm looking for a CRT monitor with a high refresh rate

size doesn't matter as long as it's 17" or above

Keep an eye on the classifieds or recycling centers in your area, sometimes one or two may pop-up for sale at a thrift store.

The dell/sony/sun/ibm trinitrons are nice but, some of people who know what they are over inflate the prices on ebay so, local is your best bet, even if you have to go 40 miles to pick a good one up.

Lol I found my 19" Gateway branded Hitachi in the trash, it needed some cleaning and tweaking and now I use it for modern gaming.

My gateway VX900 CRT can do 120Hz at HD, not too shabby for a monitor from 20 years ago.

what options can you get locally?

Most crts will run at high refresh rates if you set a custom profile. But really, lcds are better in almost every way these days.

I'm only using 4:3 & 5:4 from now on
