I'm using this app daily to check out what's new, whether it's tech deals or just politics, news in general.

Usually, when a topic is of no interest to me, I can click it and pick the "I'm not interested in [name of the theme]" option.

But I've noticed a flood of Greta Thunberg articles in my feed recently, and Google never suggests "Not interested in Greta Thunberg" as a discarding option. It'll pick related themes like "environment", "activism" or whatever, but never Greta herself. It's very weird, and I'm not being paranoid about this, it's been a month since I first noticed this and now I actively search for these articles to try and see if Google Discover will let me hide her specifically.

Jokes aside, it's really not. I'm French you see, we have people in France that are only famous/relevant in France. And yet, when there's an article about them, Google still detects them and suggests to hide all article related to them specifically. If they have small French nobodies in their database, they of course have Greta, a worldwide phenomenon. Yet, I've never ever seen her name suggested there.

I'm 100% certain they prevent us from blocking her as a theme on purpose.

Searching through the internet for others with a similar experience, I found this thread. I've noticed the same thing happening to me, and no, it's not a coincidence. You must hear about Greta Thunberg! However, if you don't care about her father, that's fine.

What's funny/weird is that they don't seem to force any other theme of personality on us. I haven't noticed this phenomenon about anyone or anything that is not her. How weird.

Anyways, Greta has Google behind her back confirmed.
