I'm looking for a new monitor

I have an Asus VG248QE and i think i fucked up with the settings because i kept seeing too much tearing when i updated windows to 1903 so i installed lightboost and it made the colors more awful and it's giving me more eye strains.

I don't know too much about monitors so I've done some research and for what i understand the IPS panels have the best colors but they have too much bleeding, the VA panels have the best contrasts but they have too much motion blur and ghosting, and the TN panels have the best response time but they have the worst colors and also the viewing angles sucks but i don't care about that. In short the IPS panels are for photo and video editing, the VA for writing and TN for fast paced gaming.

I don't play any fast paced games like csgo or call of duty or whatever except for Warframe which is kinda fast paced and insurgency sandstorm which isn't a fast paced game, but i play more single player games than these two games, i also like to watch movies and tv shows, i could watch them on my tv but sometimes i like to watch on my pc.

So I've been looking for a 1440p 144hz 27" monitor but i don't know what's best for my needs, for what i can see i think an IPS panel would be best for me, I've been eyeing the PG279Q for a while but i keep seeing comments that it has really bad controls or something and also it has a lot of bleed.

So is there a monitor that doesn't have any ghosting and motion blur and doesn't have too much bleeding? i guess i'll have to bear with the bleeding.

My specs are on my signature and it can run games normally at 1440p but I've been seeing some benchmarks and in some games the 1080 goes below 100fps so i've been thinking on upgrading it if the "low" fps isn't tolerable.

E: forgot to mention my budget is around $500-550.

I'll keep that in mind for a TN panel, only thing is that it's 24" and for what I've read it'll have higher ppi but probably it'll be a bit harder to read texts.

from personal experience it's been fine for things like email and discord, although i've only had it for about a week

Modern mid-high end IPS and VA panels have fast enough response times to not suffer from ghosting. For me this is the difference:

  • IPS: Pros: great color quality and good viewing angles. Cons: lower contrast, minor-moderate backlight bleed in dark scenes.
  • VA: Pros: great color quality, great contrast. Cons: Can get "black crush" in scenes, less optimal viewing angles than IPS.

I would look for a good IPS or VA panel and suggest using RTings.com to look up monitor reviews. In your price range I would go with the Samsung CHG70.
