Which 1080p 240hz Monitor would you choose?

Hi, i really cant decide on a 240hz panel, there isnt really any budget im after, well i wont build my own panel for over 1000€, but aslong as its a decent or i should better say in a "average" price range im in.

Normally i would just go with the AOC AGON AG251FZ for ~350€ but i got aware that it has frameskipping, that can be fixed with CRU, but would force me to repeat the procedure everytime i switch resolutions. Which as someone who plays csgo on a smaller resolution is a pain.

In depth reviews are often quite hard to understand and rare. ive seen multiple reviews of the KD25F from Gigabyte im kinda impressed with this one but it comes with a price premium at 500€.

Afaik the Gigabyte is the only Monitor on the market available in the EU that has the new AU Optronics panel with lower response time build in, which makes the monitor, despite not having the lowest input lag, in combination with its response time one of the fastest 240hz Monitors at a very low error rate as long as you use 240hz and its balanced overdrive mode.

I would like to get suggestions or other options that i can look into.

I usually dont use G-sync or ULMB/Dyac modes.

Well, the Alienware AW2518Hf or Aorus KD25F I guess, there are those new 0.5ms Acer and AOC ones too.

Based purely on reviews from rtings i can only recommend 1 240hz display

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/table/12757

The HP OMEN X25F

 https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/hp/omen-x-25f

Its the only 240hz display that doesnt have catastrophically bad uniformity. But it lacks BFI which may be somthing one would want if ur after 240hz, for the motion clarity.

One thing to note however.

As far as im aware there is no 240hz monitor reviewed so far that has the following

Passable uniformity

BFI

Pixel response fast enough for 240hz (maximum 100% transitions of no higher than 4.16ms, preferably ~2ms)

So what ever monitor you get thats touted as 240hz, chances are it will have some major issue. IMO 240hz  displays are not mature enough, they have a ways to go before they will be worth while.

Yea, the Acer Nitro was one of those that touted sub 1ms response times. Funny how its real response times actually range from 1ms to 11ms using usable overdrive settings. Setting overdrive to extreme sure allows for the lowest times to be sub 1ms (for advertising purposes), but adds catastrophic levels of overshoot that no one would ever deal with.

Dont trust manufacturer specs, they are very misleading.

Right, wish such gaming monitors would offer better info about them though. But yeah interesting monitors to come too.

Its sad that they dont review alot of them.. I would love to see the kd25f tested by them.

Yea its supposed to be one of the best, but its also quite old now.

The overall decision is pretty hard. Its a niche product, most people would just get a 1440p 144hz panel with a RTX2080ti i guess.

But i dont see me driving a higher resolution tbh. If i play CoD MW on lowest settings im somewhere between 95% and 100% GPU usage at 1080p, My whole system was planned with 240hz gaming in mind and pushing out as much FPS as possible.

Rtings buy all their monitor retail, and take votes to help decide which monitors, TVs, headphones, and soundbars to buy for review. So its not surprising they only have a few of niche monitors like 240hz ones.

In addition, iirc, there are only a handful of different 240hz panels actually made, so many of the 240hz monitor will end up being really similar in regards to performance.
