asus scar 2 games freze when changing graphics settings

Hi, I am a new user and i apologise if this is not the correct tread or something.

I recently bought as asus scar 2 gl504gw (rtx2070). I noticed that if I try to make graphic changes in any game it freezes. Sometimes I am able to open new desktop with taskmanager and kill game somethimes I am unable to even do that so i have to reboot. I am suspecting it has to do something with display refresh rate or directx but I could be entirely wrong. If anybody knows anything about it please help. 

If it has to do anything with this I am running on a single channel memory. I know it is not optimal for preformance but it shouldnt be an issue.

I am also running windows 10.
