Accidentally casting to neighbours TV

Go to solution Solved by jj9987,

If you were casting from YouTube, then you wouldn't be able to watch it from the PC at the same time.

Disable auto-connect to their wireless network. Casting does not require any password or code apart from first-time setup, in which case you just have to validate the Chromecast shows the same code that you see on your phone.

Hello :)

A few months ago, my internet died. It was barely usable for anything. Me and my neighbour are friends, and he wanted me to come online so we could play something together, so he sent me the password for their Internet so I could log on. My internet was up and running the next day, so I disconnected from his internet and started using mine. I didn't really think much about this later, but a few days ago I noticed that my PC had automatically connected back to his internet instead. I wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't for the little chromecast icon that suddenly appeared when I watched YouTube the other day. I clicked the icon, and I had apparently been casting to their living room TV. I don't own a chromecast, but I have an AppleTV in my living room. The casting icon doesn't appear on my connection, so I guess It only works for chromecast. I didn't watch anything I didn't want them to see, that's not the problem. I just hope they never noticed, because I obviously don't want them to think that I'm still using their connection for my PC. I think casting requires some kind of password/code, but I found it a little strange that nothing popped up on my computer. Did I actually cast to their TV or not?

okay, thanks. Yeah I was able to watch the video, even though It said It was casting to their TV. I don't know if it was bugged or not, but since they haven't said anything I guess they didn't notice.
